Local baker gets brick-and-mortar site

Ever since she was a little kid, Autumn Spitler wanted to open a bakery. Now, she’s made her dream reality.

Spitler, who has been doing custom baked goods orders for her home for the past few years, yesterday celebrated the grand opening of Autumn’s Sweet Shoppe, a semi-permanent pop-up shop at 700 Bryden Rd. The spot was previously occupied by Three Bites Bakery, which will move to a permanent site at 999 Mt. Vernon Ave.

“My favorite part of baking is coming up with fun flavor pairings and seeing the joy on people’s faces when they take a bite,” Spitler said.

Spitler said she’ll offer a variety of pastries and desserts, along with coffee. She eventually plans to carry ready-made lunch items from other local businesses.

“I’m so excited to have a little storefront where I can connect with people over baked goods and coffee,” she said.

Hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Online ordering will be available soon, but for now guests can still order in person.
