The foodie’s guide to Earth Day

Sarah Sole

Earth Day is just a day away, and while it’s a great day to get outside, get in the dirt, and clean up your community, at some point you gotta eat.

And that’s where we’re here to help, Columbus. Here are three ways for you and your taste buds to celebrate accordingly:

  1. Have a veggie burger at Northstar Cafe. This is Northstar’s 17th Earth Day celebration. While the eatery isn’t offering their popular burgers free of charge this year, they will be donating proceeds from your purchase to the Team Member Relief Fund. Started last year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fund provides short-term financial support to team members in personal or medical emergency.
  2. Treat your sweet tooth with vegan desserts at Melt Bar & Grilled. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Melt’s Easton location will feature desserts from Bitchy Vegan Homo. There’s the Banana Strawberry Cupcake Pack and regular and peanut butter versions of the Best Damn Brownie. Be sure to try the BVH “Vegan Boss” sandwich special featuring vegan cheddar, tofu bacon, avocado, and fire roasted corn. The eatery will also offer 20% off all vegan food items companywide.
  3. Tame that grumbling tummy with a meal from Eden Burger. Grab an Eden Burger, fries, and a shake for $14 tomorrow. Vegan cookies will be available for $5 all day as well. While you’re at it, snag this cool shirt.
