Eden Burger/Village Taco, Loaded Fries Collab

Step aside, poutine, this new, mouth-watering collaboration between two of the most beloved plant-based eateries in Columbus is here now l. For this week only, you can purchase Eden Burger’s delectable hand-cut fries (always great even by themselves) piled high with a mountain of fixings from the one and only Village Taco, including ‘beaf’ (plant-based beef), sour cream, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes, diced onions, and their signature krack sauce.

Modern Southern Table, Fried Chicken

One of the hottest spots to open at the new Budd Dairy Food Hall is Modern Southern Table, the eatery taking classic comfort favorites and serving them with a contemporary twist. And get this: Their best-selling chicken comes prepared three different ways. You can choose from traditional fried chicken, Alabama fried chicken, or low country chicken, a bird basted with a generous helping of barbecue spices. We definitely couldn’t decide between the three, so we’ll leave that work up to you.

Zelnik, Barbacoa Zelnik

In case you haven’t heard of Zelnik—the traditional Macedonian pastry featuring a blend of meats and cheeses pocketed in a layer of fresh, flaky dough—we’re here to tell you it’s the real deal. And the Columbus eatery named after this delicious entree is as well, offering one of their most enticing seasonal riffs on the savory pastry. This new Zelnik, available for a limited time only, is filled with braised beef, sautéed onions, queso fresco, and an accompanying jalapeño-cilantro dipping sauce that’s here to crank things up to 11.

Alqueria, Burrata

With summer just around the corner, we’d be remiss not to highlight a dish that features bright, fresh, seasonal ingredients. New to the menu of Alqueria, the chic new farmhouse restaurant located in the University District, is a salad that features roasted beets, pistachios, its namesake Burrata cheese, a rose wine vinegar reduction, radish green infused olive oil, and Maldon sea salt.

Yellow Brick Pizza, Garlic Knots

In most cases we probably wouldn’t feature a side dish, but when it’s homemade garlic knots from Yellow Brick Pizza, we’re willing to make an exception. This brand new offering from the East-side pizzeria doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but everything is done exactly right. From the fresh dough knots to the garlic butter, Italian seasoning, and grated parmesan cheese they’re tossed in, to the bright, slightly acidic side of red sauce for dipping, you really can’t go wrong with these.

Schmidt’s, White Chocolate Triple Berry Cream Puff

If you thought Schmidt’s only did meat, then you have a lot to learn about Columbus dining. The iconic German Village eatery regularly rotates a different cream puff flavor each month, and they went all in for the month of May. Featuring a blend of fresh berries swimming in truly rich and decadent white chocolate cream, one month might not even be long for everyone to get your fair share of this one.
