Marysville cafe announces permanent closure

Fifth Street Cafe, at 117 E. 5th St., will not reopen, according to an announcement made via social media yesterday morning.

“I have made a decision not to reopen Fifth Street Cafe,” the post reads in part. “This has been a very difficult decision to make. However, as a single, disabled mother heading towards 60, it’s time for me to retire and focus on my health.”

The owner thanked everyone for their support over the last several years.
