This Columbus sculpture was named one of the top 100 pieces of public art in the world
“The Makers Monument” made waves when it was installed in the Short North last year.
Created by Ohio native Mark Reigelman, the massive sculpture–which tips the scale at more than 7,000 pounds–was created to honor the Columbus area’s often-overlooked history of industry and creation. And recently, the work received some honors of its own.
Reigelman’s installation was recently named one of the top 100 pieces of public art in the world by Coda Worx, as a part of the 2022 CODAawards. The individual artworks are not ranked on the list, but the public is invited the public to vote for each year’s People’s Choice Award.
