National fast food chain testing new “express” location in Columbus
Captain D’s is aiming to make its fast food in Columbus even faster
The national seafood chain recently opened a brand-new “express” location at 3588 E. Main St. in Whitehall. This is Captain D’s second “express” eatery, the other is located in Nashville.
At 970 square feet, the new Whitehall storefront is just under half the size of a typical Captain D’s location. With no dining room, it serves walk-up and drive-thru patrons only, a move the restaurant believes will expedite service.

“This prototype was created based on extensive guest feedback and a desire to develop restaurant footprints that are well-suited to the market,” Chief Development Officer Brad Reed said in a press release. “Space comes at a premium in many metropolitan areas like Columbus and this smaller model gives us a lot of flexibility.”
There are currently two other Captain D’s locations in the Columbus area.
