National tequila and bourbon hall adding Short North location

Agave & Rye’s first Columbus location–in the space that formerly housed Spagio in grandview–has been in the works for some time, and now another Agave & Rye location is coming to Columbus as well.

Today, Agave & Rye announced that it will also be opening a Short North restaurant as well. The new Agave & Rye will be located at 479 N. High St.

The surprise opening comes as part of owners Yavonne and Wade Sarber’s self-described “aggressive expansion plan” for the Columbus Area. Both the Grandview and Short North locations will open in early May.

“This is an extremely exciting expansion for Agave & Rye,” Yavonne Sarber, Co-Founder and CEO of Agave & Rye said in a press release. “For years, we’ve had fans online and in person asking when we’d be expanding throughout Ohio, and it makes us so, so happy to finally be able to announce to all those who have been waiting in Columbus: ‘We are finally here!’”

The newly-announced Short North location will feature street art with an “urban grunge” aesthetic, as well as music spanning everything from 80’s pop to popular songs today. It boasts a 140-person dining room in addition to patio space for an additional 90 visitors.

Yavonne and Wade Sarber also plan to launch a new, chic steakhouse concept, called Son of a Butcher, in the Columbus area, although details of the new concept have not been announced yet.
