“Mini” ice cream shop in German Village officially reopens

Jack McLaughlin

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has returned to its unique German Village location.

The ice cream spot opened its 91 square foot “mini Jeni’s,” over the last weekend in March, according to an employee. The Jeni’s mini store is located at 900 Mohawk St. in German Village, next to Brown Bag Deli.

The storefront, which offers walk-up, carryout service only, is seasonal, open every year from April to October. This year, however, the German Village location will be expanding its hours.

According to a Jeni’s employee, the storefront, which is typically only open on the weekends, plans on expanding its hours of operation, and will be open daily.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has locations in 12 different states (including Washington D.C.), and its unique German Village mini Jeni’s is the smallest of them all. The location officially opened for business in 2011.
