Popular Korean-Mexican fusion ghost kitchen reopens inside of Buddha Bowl, eyes brick and mortar storefront

TaKorea, a popular ghost kitchen known for its Korean-Mexican fusion in addition to live wok cooking displays, has found a new home.

The eatery has set up shop inside Buddha Bowl, the fast-casual Clintonville eatery from Columbus restaurateur Rhome Ruanphae. Buddha Bowl, which opened late last year, is located at 2937 N. High St.

According to TaKorea owner Kevin Kim, the eatery was previously a member of the Columbus Food Hall, a collection of commercial ghost kitchen spaces on Essex Avenue. “It’s worked out well for us both,” Kim Said. “[Ruanphe] was in a position where he wanted to rent out part of the restaurant, and we were trying to find a new home.”

While TaKorea technically operates as a ghost kitchen inside Buddha Bowl, Ruanphe said that customers can use Buddha Bowl’s dine-in space to eat inside after they pick up an order.

Kim is currently looking for a permanent home for Takorea, and believes Buddha Bowl may be that space. Both restaurant owners have discussed the possibility of Takorea taking over the High Street spot, but no firm plans have been announced on this front just yet.
