Service Bar announces plan to reopen

Jack McLaughlin

It’s been a while since Service Bar has been open, but not long enough to forget what makes the spot a Columbus culinary destination.

Located within Middle West Spirits, Service Bar ceased carryout operations last summer, and its dining room has been closed since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ohio.

While the restaurant didn’t offer an exact opening date, it did state its intentions to relaunch dine-in and takeout services again soon.

“The past two years posed many challenges but with the loyal carry out support, Service Bar persevered,” Service Bar said in a statement posted to their social media accounts. “We also spent this time reflecting on our successes and things we had the opportunity to improve to enhance the customer experience. We are currently in the process to reopen Service Bar in the near future and share our spirits, our food, and our space with Columbus, once again.”

When the popular eatery does reopen, patrons can expect a few welcome changes as well. Most notably, a renovation of its dining room began when Service Bar ceased carryout operations last summer.

Popular Executive Chef Avishar Barua is focusing on launching his own venture, Joya’s, in Worthington, but according to Service Bar the eatery will hastily carry “his culinary touches on our menu.”
