Take a first look at Aracri on Gay, the new home of one of the city’s most longstanding pizzerias

Palmo Aracri is drawn to the downtown area of Columbus. It’s where he served pizza at Cafe Napolitana for nearly 30 years.

So when he relocated late last year, staying downtown was important to him. Aracri on Gay, the new iteration of Cafe Napolitana, opened its doors on Jan. 17, and we stopped by to catch up with Palmo and grab a few photos of the new space.

The interior features a more modern aesthetic than Cafe Napolitana, but it also compiles relics from the last 30 years of Aracri’s pizza-making career in Columbus. From art made on a Wendy’s dumpster door, to the former door of a government office building, to decor created made by Palmo’s wife, Deanne Aracri–all while she’s been battling cancer–as well as the original Cafe Napolitana signage, which has been converted to a table.

Enjoy the photos, and make sure to grab a slice the next time you’re downtown.
