South campus area appears to be getting a new coffee shop

When I lived on Chittenden ten years ago, there were absolutely no coffee options nearby. I either had to trek down High St. to the only Starbucks on campus (which meant there was a line out the door all of the time), or just opt for a margarita at Plaza Mexican Grill instead of a caffeine boost.

Although there are now multiple Starbucks options around OSU’s campus, it appears that there’s about to be a new one near South Campus, at the corner of Chittenden & High St., according to city permits.

This new Starbucks appears to be coming in at located at 1636 N. High St., in the same space that once housed Trism, a now-closed coffee shop and smoothie bar.
