Old North pizzeria reopens after temporary closure

A high street pizzeria offering Detroit-style pies has reopened after an unexpected closure.

According to a statement posted to the social media pages of Square Slice Pizzeria, the Old North eatery plans to officially reopen its door after being closed for multiple weeks due to staffing issues.

“Hey Columbus!  We have had our kitchen closed these past few weeks while our staff dealt with a family emergency.  We are opening back up this weekend,” the statement reads.

Square Slice, which is typically closed for the first half of the week, will reopen for the first time in weeks tomorrow. It will be open 5 p.m.-12 a.m. tomorrow, and 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

The pizzeria, which is located at 2593 N. High St. in the Old North Arcade, first opened in August of 2021. It features Detroit-style pizza (cooked in a deep, rectangular pan and sliced into squares) made from focaccia dough and topped with premium ingredients, like Ezzo meat products and ghost pepper hot honey.
