Popular Downtown eatery reopening next week after 3 year hiatus

Columbus lost a plethora of incredible businesses during the pandemic, understandably, but now, one of them is making a return after three years.

On March 16th, 2020, El Camino Inn announced they were “closed until further notice.” Their closure left a hole in the Columbus food scene; this was the spot for many foodies to grab late-night tacos, tortas, and margaritas in a cool, Downtown setting overlooking fourth street. The restaurant was dimly lit with vintage lamps and a simple, blue fluorescent sign on the window that spelled out “El Camino Inn,” and the vinyl records played throughout the night set a certain type of ambiance that nowhere else in the city could embody.

Fortunately, we get to experience this all again starting next week, October 12th, at 4pm, according to their Instagram account! They’ll be reopening at the exact same location at 238 S. 4th St., right next to Dirty Franks, Little Palace, and 16-Bit.

Columbus has seen exponential growth since the eatery closed in 2020, with thousands of new residents flocking to live here, most of who will be able to experience El Camino Inn for the first time.

Their social media states that they’ll be serving the same, authentic Mexican street food and cocktails we know and love, plus they’ll be collaborating with Wasteland Vintage, offering clothes and decor to purchase.
