This Columbus eatery allegedly just received the highest score of any Ohio pizzeria from ‘One Bite Pizza Reviews’

In case you hadn’t heard, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and “One Bite Pizza Reviews” is in Columbus. According to the show’s online records, Portnoy has reviewed 15 Ohio spots, between Columbus, Cleveland, Youngstown and Austintown, and whether it’s because he’s a Michigan alum or not, no eatery in the state has broken an 8.0.

Until yesterday, according to Sexton’s Pizza co-owner Joey Sexton.

According to Sexton, Portnoy and company stopped by to film a segment of “One Bite Pizza Reviews” on Thursday, and to try the pie itself.

“We got an 8.1,” Sexton told 614Now. “We are stoked!”

And while Sexton said he and his staff stayed inside while Portnoy filmed the segment just outside of the shop, he did catch the pizza reviewer praising Sexton’s product. The review of Sexton’s has not been posted to “One Bite Pizza Reviews” yet.

According to the show’s website, the highest score in Ohio was given several years ago to another local spot, Leone’s Pizza (7.8). GoreMade Pizza received high marks (7.4), while other Columbus pizzerias like Adriacto’s (5.4) and Catfish Biff’s Pizza & Subs (1.2) came in lower on the scale.
