‘USA Today’ ranks this Columbus café as 3rd best independent coffee shop in the U.S.
Well, it’s official – Columbus has some of the best pizza, some of the best sports team, some of the best ice cream, and now, some of the best coffee.
USA Today’s “Reader’s Choice” column nominated Stauf’s Coffee for “10 Best Independent Coffee Shops in the US,” and after nominations, Stauf’s won third place overall! “These 10 independent coffee shops have been nominated by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best in the U.S. for their cozy atmospheres, friendly baristas, and unique menus,” says USA Today.

Stauf’s roots go back to 1988, when they first started hand-roasting specialty beans in Central Ohio exclusively on gas-fired rum roasters. They’re considered Columbus’ first micro-roaster, and now, Columbus’ best, with this new award.
They have five locations around Columbus if you’re now hankering for a cup of joe. You can grab wholesale beans, lattes and cappuccinos to stay or to-go, and even homemade baked goods and meals at some locations. I especially love the cozy fireplace and intimate, pine tree covered patio at the German Village location.
Their motto is, “The proof is in the cup,” and you’ll just have to see for yourself what makes this coffee shop the third best in the nation. Congrats, Stauf’s!
