Columbus brewery tops ‘Men’s Journal’ list of taprooms with ‘the coolest on-site games’

 Land-Grant Brewing Co.’s outdoor playground of a taproom is no secret here in Columbus, but now an national publication is giving the local spot some love as well.

In a story published by “Men’s Journal” on March 29, the publication created a list of 8 different craft breweries with “the coolest on-site games.”

Lang-Grant came in at number one.

And while the story acknowledges that winter time tends to be when Land-Grant goes all-out with their accoutrement, it noted the summer season isn’t lacking, either.

“One of the most popular times of year to visit Land Grant Brewing is during the winter when they offer brewery curling on a 1,300-square-foot ice rink. What’s the distinction between brewery curling and the regular kind? Here, players slide kegs (not traditional stones) toward the target (or “house”). During warmer seasons, the rink turns into the beer garden’s turf area, featuring an eight-hole mini golf and putting course, as well as arcade basketball,” the story reads.

The Columbus brewery had a quick message for its patrons following the release of the story.

“Thanks to everyone who spent time with us in the @landgrant_taproom Wintergarden this year! While we’re excited for warmer Beer Garden weather and fun, we can’t wait to do it again next year,” the brewery said in a social media statement.
