614 feast names his top Columbus chicken wings of 2024
Whenever I can’t decide what to eat, I just wing it — chicken wing it. But before we go any further, let’s settle the big chicken wing debates: drums or flats? Ranch or blue cheese? Bone-in or boneless? (Yes, I know boneless wings aren’t technically wings, but they’re like cousins — and no, they are not nuggets. Nuggets are ground or processed chicken, while boneless wings are whole cuts made into bite-sized perfection.)
After a year of sticky fingers and sauce-stained napkins, I’m ready to share my favorite wings in Columbus for 2024:
Atlas Tavern (8944 Lyra Dr) The Best of All meal is half a pound of boneless wings, half a pound of traditional bone-in wings, crispy waffle fries, and I always order both blue cheese and ranch — because why choose when you can have it all? For sauces I went with mango habanero and Buffalo hot.

Hoggy’s BBQ and Catering (830 Bethel Rd) Their wings are smoked and fried to perfection. Their Secret Menu Wings takes it to another level. They fry the wings, coat them in their house-made Jamaican Me Crazy sauce, fry them again, and finish with a toss in their signature Hogfire sauce. The result? Smoky, crispy, juicy, caramelized, sticky, sweet, and spicy goodness in every bite.
Barley’s Brewing Company (467 N High St) Unconventional Wings are one of their signature items — large, juicy wings grilled golden with a beautiful char. You can’t go wrong with any flavor, but my top picks are the lemon pepper dry rub and the classic buffalo sauce.
Flavor 91 Bistro (5186 E Main St, Whitehall) Best Wings in Ohio, locally sourced chicken wings that are seasoned just right. Their Ethiopian Dry Rub is truly phenomenal, it’s sweet, smoky, and has a subtle spice. They’re consistently juicy and tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
CM Chicken (multiple locations) The Red Hot Pepper Chicken crispy, tender chicken wings tossed in their addictive gochujang sauce. It’s packed with flavor and brings the heat — spicy, but not too intense. Each bite has that epic crunch, sticky-sweet glaze, and juicy, flavorful chicken.
