Popular restaurant addresses rumors after announcing temporary closure
After a week of speculation that an upscale restaurant is closing, they took it to Instagram to address the rumors.
“To clear up the rumors and share some news, we’re happy to reveal more about the 2.0 concept. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming your way,” posted Ghostwriter Public House, the popular Johnstown eatery.
They said that they will be closing, but only temporarily between the dates of December 22 until January 8th. And during that break, a new version of Ghostwriter will emerge, with an interior refresh and a new menu that’s “simple yet decadent,” featuring small plates, fresh salads, savory soups, and creative sandwiches.

The spot is known for their upscale offerings, and many customers took it to Facebook and Instagram to express their concerns. “Hmmm…not sure how to feel about this. Loved everything about the original Ghostwriter. Hopefully this new concept will be equally good….,” said one loyal patron. “This is one of the best restaurants in central Ohio. Hopefully the redesign doesn’t forget what brought the success and repeat customers to date,” said another.
Ghostwriter said that moving forward, they’ll be accepting no more reservations. People made the point to say that many patrons won’t make the 30-40 drive from Columbus to Johnstown if they’re not guaranteed a table.
But nonetheless, Ghostwriter said that they’re excited for this next new chapter, and they hope their loyal guests are, too.
