According to March Madness-style competition, this is the best bakery in the Columbus area

Columbus foodies have spoken, and The Dipped Donut in Delaware has been named the best bakery in the Columbus area.

The Delaware donut shop was tapped as the area’s best bakery in a recent March-Madness style vote-off held by Jessica Caton Diefenbach, who you may know as better as Munchybeak.

The poll included Gluten Free From the Dipped, an entirely gluten-free spinoff of the bakery located in the same multi-unit building as the original donut shop, as part of The Dipped Donut.

Referred to as Munchybeak Madness, the contest held multiple rounds pairing bakeries against one another, beginning with a round of 32 different local spots. Now in its third year, this was the first year eateries outside of Columbus proper (but still located in central Ohio) were included.

The Final Foodie Four was held on March 29, and voting for the National Chompionship Game took place earlier this week.

The Dipped Donut, which is located at 256 S. Sandusky St. in Delaware, has been operated by Jeni and Carl Reida for nearly 20 years.
