After closing one restaurant this month, another Central Ohio chain appears to be closing as landlord wins eviction case
A national chain since 1939 was evicted from multiple locations around Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Early November, the Frisch’s Big Boy in Lancaster abruptly shuttered, evicting the restaurant due to unpaid rent.

Unfortunately, it appears the Grove City Frisch’s location, located at 2878 Home Rd., is facing the same fate. An eviction hearing in the Franklin County Municipal Court favored the landlord, ruling that Frisch’s missed their rent payments. The ruling said there was a “restitution of the premises” from the Grove City location to the Orlando-based landlord, NNN Reit, which means “the Tenant agrees to return the Leased Premises in the same condition as when entered and to return the keys to the property.”
One of the drivers who delivers bread to this location shared on Reddit that they’re closing at the end of the month. An employee at this Frisch’s said they haven’t been given an exact date of the closure, but that it would probably be within the next three weeks.
In a statement, Frisch’s said, “Due to unforeseen circumstances and various other factors…Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurants will be closing certain locations. We look forward to serving our loyal and beloved Frisch’s customers at other locations and apologize for any inconvenience.”
