Columbus baker to be featured on ‘Food Network’ competition series

A popular Columbus cookie concept is taking its talents to The Food Network.

According to a social media post from Plenty O’Cookies, owner Alex Copeland will appear on “Holiday Wars” later this month. The show is a contest series that challenges teams of master bakers and sugar artists to create the best possible holiday-themed, edible displays

The show will premiere at 9 p.m. on Nov. 10.

Plenty O’Cookies is known for creating a variety of decadent sugar cookies with creative flourish, but also as an important member of Columbus’ LGBTQIA+ community, as Copeland is also the drag queen Plenty O’Smiles, and has woven the drag persona into the Plenty O’Cookies concept.

This isn’t the Columbus cookie creator’s first time on screen, either, as Plenty O’Cookies has made multiple other Food Network appearances, including multiple on “The Food Network Cookie Challenge.”
