Columbus burger spot, pizzeria, both close locations

The newest location of Hot Mess Food Truck and a spin-off pizza concept, Pizzeria 1880, have closed up shop.

According to a statement posted the restaurants’ Instagram accounts, the eateries have now closed the doors of their locations in the Downtown Exchange (DTX), a new Zanesville food hall.

“We have truly enjoyed being part of the community and appreciate the local support and kindness we have received. Unfortunately, our ability to operate the two locations remotely has proven to be more than we are able to do at this time,” the statement, which was posted by both concepts, reads.

The closure is effective immediately. Hot Mess currently operates another location in Hilliard’s Center Street Market, which will remain open. Patrons will be able to redeem any Hot Mess gift cards at its Hilliard location.

And while the local burger and pizza concepts have left Downtown Exchange—which opened last summer in a historic Downtown Zanesville building—Hot Mess and Pizzeria 1880 continue to support the new food hall.

“The DTX has a bright future in the community and we wish the DTX, Judd, Cara, Brian, Mary, the vendors and the community the best of luck in the new year,” the eateries’ statements read.
