Elevated Italian chain from ‘Next Cool Restaurant’ group coming to Easton

The Next Cool Restaurant is coming to Easton. Literally.

NCR Ventures (short for Next Cool Restaurant), plans to bring its elevated Italian concept to Columbus.

Bar Italia, a popular NCR eatery with locations in Lakewood and Beachwood (both in Ohio), in addition to Winter Park, Florida and Lakewood Ranch, Florida, is coming to Easton Town Center.

The restaurant will be located at across from Cameron Mitchell Restaurant’s recently opened Del Mar, although an exact address wasn’t given. Bar Italia is slated to open in 2025.

The Doody family (members of whom founded Lindey’s in 1943), also founded NCR Restaurants, and Bar Italia marks the family’s return to the Columbus dining scene. It will also represent the first opening of an NCR concept in Columbus.

“Our team has been working relentlessly with Steiner and Brent LaCount and his team at Design Collective, to make Bar Italia a ‘one of a kind Italian restaurant’ for Easton,” said NCR CEO and founder Rick Doody in a press release. “We want this restaurant to feel like an authentic, beautiful Italian restaurant on par with a Cipriani-like venue in New York, London or Paris. We plan to use all authentic materials; Italian marble, beautiful walnut woods, modern Italian furniture and special artwork from Massimo Listri, a famous Florence photographer and artist.”

NCR is also behind Cleveland-area concepts Jojo’s Bar, Cedar Creek Grille, 17 River Grille, the Lakehouse and Jojo’s backyard.
