National coffee chain opening store in former Short North bar, which shuttered after lawsuits
The former home of Julep is set to have a new tenant soon.
The bar, which closed last year following a rent lawsuit and Columbus City Council’s objection to the renewal of its liquor license, will be replaced by a Starbucks.
According to Starbucks’ website, the coffee chain is hiring for multiple positions–including shift supervisor, barista and more—at store 84070, which is located at 1014 N. High St., STE 100B, the former location of Julep.

Julep, which first opened in 2016, closed for good in the summer of 2023. In an interview last year, owner Fadi Michael told 614Now he believed the claims from the city were made without merit.
