Popular restaurant that closed in 2023 due to fire announces they won’t be reopening this year as intended
We’ve held our breath and crossed our fingers since October of 2023, ever since one of our favorite Chinese restaurants caught fire.
Hunan Lion, located at 2038 Crown Plaza Dr. announced early this year that they hoped to open by summer of 2024 after a devastating fire forced them to close. But by Spring, they encountered a few delays. Another update in the fall had all of us on our toes, hoping they’d be ready to open for Christmas celebrations.
However, that won’t be happening.

Hunan Lion gave us an update on Facebook, sadly saying they won’t be open this year. “While we’ve completed a majority of the repairs, we’ve experienced several delays due to the complexities with our permit with the city, ongoing inspections, and coordinating with the various parties involved.”
“We truly appreciate your patience as we’ve been waiting to post an update until we’re absolute certain, but we’re saddened to say we won’t be able to open in time for the holidays this year,” Hunan Lion said.
We’re ready when you are, Hunan Lion!
