This local Asian restaurant just closed, but one of Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in U.S. is replacing it

In March of last year, a new Chinese restaurant opened, and Columbus went crazy for their Fruity Pebble covered chicken wings, as well as their crispy pork belly, hot & sour soup, and other Sichuan options.

A little over a year later, this restaurant, YF Chinese Cuisine, which was located at 5225 Godown Rd., has officially closed their doors.

When one door closes, another one opens, of course. A new concept has already moved in! Kung Fu Noodle, which was ranked in Yelp’s esteemed list of The Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. in the 2024, is opening in the same location sometime in May, an employee told 614Now.  They currently already have a popular location in Kettering, OH.

Yelp said, “For a taste of a legendary hand-pulled noodle soup that originated in the Tang Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago, look no further than Kung Fu Noodle. The restaurant’s chefs are trained in Lanzhou (a capital city in northwest China), where key ingredients are also sourced for the signature Classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup (hand-stretched noodles, braised beef, sliced white radish, green garlic, and cilantro). The noodles are “chewy and perfectly cooked,” notes Yelp Elite Minji K. Other favorite dishes include the “Bite of China” Ground Pork Noodle Soup (with tofu, kelp buds, dried lily, and potatoes) or the vegetarian Tomato Egg Noodles (with stir-fried tomato and scrambled-egg sauce).”

The restaurant will serve an array of authentic dishes, ranging from appetizers like dumplings and potstickers, to specialty hand-pulled noodle dishes such as Dan-Dan Hand Stretched Noodles and Braised Beef Noodle Soup, plus a variety of unique stir-fried rice dishes. You can view their complete menu here!

Kung Fu Noodle posted on Facebook, “Your encouragement is the driving force behind our progress. We will continue to serve our community with dedication, offering even better Asian cuisine. Our noodles undergo a meticulous process of 5 steps, taking three hours of preparation to deliver an authentic bowl of hand-pulled fresh noodles. The fresh broth is simmered for several hours, creating a delicious and refreshing flavor. The bold spiciness of our Dan Dan noodles will tantalize your taste buds, leaving a memorable impression. Paired with our lamb skewers, cold cucumber salad, and pan-fried dumplings, you‘re sure to fall in love with it.”
