Columbus one of country’s best cities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, data study says
From green beer to green bagels, Columbus goes all in on St. Patrick Day, and a new data study supports central Ohio’s proclivity towards the holiday.
According to a study from Vegas Gems, Columbus is the eighth best city in the country for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The study relied on a number of factors, including the number of pubs with a Google rating of at least 4.5 stars, and the average price of beer in a given city. Each city is then given a final score out of 100. Columbus earned a 58.96, in front of San Francisco and just behind Omaha.

While many of us likely expected to see Columbus near the top of the list, its top-ranked city may come as a surprise. According to the study, El Paso, Texas is the country’s top city to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
“The study that El Paso is the best city in the US for an Irish pub crawl, achieving a final score of 83.77,” Vegas Gems writes. “The Texan city received the highest possible score of 10 for having the lowest price for domestic beer out of every U.S. city, charging an average of $3.75 for a 0.5-litre draught.”
