614 feast names his five favorite new restaurants of 2024

Hope your 2025 is off to a delicious start—if you’re on the lookout for somewhere new to feast, here are my favorite spots that opened in 2024. From next-level comfort food and spicy international flavors to an incredible omakase experience and a food hall packed with a variety of amazing cuisines, these newcomers are sure to satisfy. Ready to find your new favorite spot? Let’s go!

HARU Omakase (2027 Polaris Pkwy)

The chef’s table experience was one of my all-time favorites. The vibes and ambiance are immaculate, and every piece of nigiri sushi is ultra-fresh and high quality—I literally couldn’t pick a favorite, they’re that good.

Bears Bagels (4142 Main St, Hilliard)

Founded in 2022, Bears Bagels opened their Hilliard brick-and-mortar in June 2024, serving up bagels that are rested for 24 hours, boiled, then baked to perfection. The bagels, shmears, and sandwiches are all amazing, but my absolute go-to is the Bears Best—chili crisp schmear, hoisin slab bacon, folded egg, thin green onion, and pickled radish & carrot.

The Little Grand Market (710 Grandview Crossing Way)

This bright, open food hall has stylish seating, cool artwork, and some of the best eats in Columbus. You can grab my favorite tacos from Los Agavez, a phenomenal sandwich from Pablo’s Havana Cafe, or comforting Korean food from Seoul Food on the Go. With plenty of other vendors to explore, you’ll have a tough time choosing just one place to eat.

Fiery Sky Asian Kitchen (1450 Bethel Rd)

Get your fix of authentic Chinese flavors here. I am a heat seeker and love the spicy dishes—like the Chongqing Spicy Popcorn Chicken, Ma Po Tofu, and crispy sautéed green beans—but if you’re not a fan of heat, no worries; they’ve got milder options too.

Jenny’s Diner (4768 N High St)

This iconic diner has that classic feel, complete with an open kitchen, cozy booths, and a long counter where you can watch the magic happen. The walls are lined with photos, adding to the warm, welcoming vibe. Their menu is stacked with diner staples like biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon, waffles, and more.
