New seafood restaurant opening next month aims to invoke Florida vacations
The owner of Delaware’s newly-opened Queso Fuego is at it again, as another entirely new concept will be coming next door to the Tex-Mex spot.
Kelly’s Island Kitchen, a vacation-inspired seafood restaurant, is set to open sometime next month, owner TD Rider told 614now. Part of the reason Kelly’s Island Kitchen did not open alongside Rider’s Queso Fuego concept was purposeful, he said, in order to not overwhelm himself and staff.
Kelly’s Island Kitchen is located at 14 W. William St., the former site of SmOHked Ohio BBQ & Bar. Queso Fuego, which opened in early January, is next door at 12 W. William St.

And while Rider is a native of Central Ohio, his time in Florida informed much of Kelly’s Island Kitchen.
“The new restaurant will be like a Florida vacation: seafood, steaks, chicken, and a burger with some really cool unique sides like pina colada Cole slaw, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese, and house made three- layer key lime pie,” Rider said.
