Borgata Pizza Cafe owner opening new hot dog restaurant

The founder of a popular Columbus pizzeria is trying his hand at hot dogs starting this summer.

That’s because Ed Bisconti—owner of the Columbus pizzeria Borgata Pizza Cafe—is opening a brand-new hot dog restaurant soon.

The concept, called Junkyard Dogs, is the creation of Borgata and QFM96 host Jerry Elliot. It will be located at 2245 W. Dublin Granville Rd, STE 108 in, near the Worthington location of Borgata Pizza Cafe.

An official opening date has not been announced, but Bisconti said Junkyard Dogs will likely open in several weeks.

“It kind of started as a joke actually,” he said. “But then we kept talking about the shop and it got serious”

The new restaurant will feature a concise menu of hot dogs, sausage, bratwurst, fries and Hubcaps, ultra-thick potato chips covered in Buffalo seasoning.

Junkyard Dogs will offer several different hot dog styles, including all pork Stadium Dogs, all beef dogs with natural casings from Cleveland and even a Wagyu hot dog from New Jersey. Vegan hot dogs, in addition to milkshakes and floats, will also be served.

The 1,370 square foot eatery will host both dine-in and carryout customers.
