Columbus food content creator wins coveted James Beard Award

Alexis Nikole—the Columbus-based Social Media figure known for her energetic and informative videos on Ohio flora—has rustled up something big on her latest excursion.

This time, she brought home a coveted James Beard Award.

Nikole, who goes by “The Black Forager”, was the official winner in the Social Media Account category of the 2022 James Beard Foundation Broadcast Media Awards, for her foraging and plant-based accounts. Her content airs on Instagram and TikTok.

Nikole’s nomination was announced earlier this year. She was nominated alongside two other social media channels, KJ Kearny’s BlackFoodFridays and Alexa Zenieris’ Buzzfeed Tasty.
