Get outside for some peak fall fun this weekend at the Slate Run Metro Park Fall Fest!

With autumnal colors nearing peak showing, it’s time to soak in some family-friendly fun.

The Slate Run Metro Park Fall Fast, an annual free event, is taking place on Oct. 15th, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including hayrides, a corn maze, archery, games and crafts. The Ohio Wildlife Center will be present on-site with live animals as well, and food trucks will be avialable for hungry visitors.

The park is located at 1375 St Rte 674 North in Canal Winchester, and participants should follow the signs to meet at the Buzzard’s Roost Picnic Area. 

Make a day of it, as the park offers countless other outdoor pursuits, including a natural play area, boardwalk and nine different trails to explore. Plan some time for a stop at the Slate Run Living Historical Farm as well to experience what life was like on an Ohio farm in the 1880’s. Stroll through the gardens, barns and farmhouse, and visit with pigs, geese, turkeys, Percheron horses and other heirloom animals.
