New restaurant and bar where “happy hour never ends”opening tomorrow
Lola’s Kitchen & Bar officially closed the doors of its downtown eatery on Jan. 29, but the owners of the space are planning a new concept to take over in the same location less than a month later.
According to co-owner Kevin Ames, Downtown Tavern will open for business tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. The eatery is located at 201 S. High St. Kevin Ames and Lori Ames also both owned and operated Lola’s Kitchen & Bar.
In a late January statement, Ames noted that Downtown Tavern will be “a lot less ‘dressy’” than Lola’s, although it will still over a “chef-driven” menu overseen by the pair.
