Columbus burger spot one of ten new vendors coming to exciting new Zanesville food hall

Located an hour east of Downtown Columbus, a new food hall is bringing a bevy of dining options and an injection of excitement to Downtown Zanesville.

The Downtown Exchange, an 8,400 square-foot food hall slated to open this May, is located at 527 Main St. in Zanesville. The building, according to Brian Diamond (who owns the food hall alongside his wife Mary Diamond and fellow couple Judd and Cara Dodson), was built in the 1880s and will host ten vendors, eight of which are currently signed on.

“Zanesville is in the middle of a downtown revitalization period. There are residential spaces coming now, an event center is already there, a summer concert series that drives a lof of traffic, and additional bars and restaurants are under development right now,” Diamond said. “[The Downtown Exchange] has the opportunity to become a focal point of our downtown, to create a great new lifestyle space for food and collaboration.”

One of the new food hall’s vendors will include the popular Columbus burger spot Hot Mess. The eatery, which operates a food truck in addition to a vendor space inside Hilliard’s Center Street Market, will be one of at least eight concepts launching in the Downtown Exchange when it opens later this year.

Hot Mess co-owner John Ciardelli told 614Now that the new space will feature the same menu as the popular Center Street Market space the eatery opened almost exactly a year ago.

In addition to Hot Mess, the Downtown Exchange will contain the following vendors:

  • Lucky Jupiter Bar
  • Wood’s Meat & Deli
  • Chapman’s Coffee
  • KIK Extreme Desserts
  • Bee Sweet Desserts
  • Hayai Hibachi
  • Taste of Greece

The second and third floors of the historic building, which previously served as an antique mall, an auction house and more, will also include 5,000-6,000 square feet of coworking space.
