New study ranks Columbus as one of the most expensive cities in the country for a night out
If you were planning on making a fun out this weekend in Columbus, there’s a chance you may want to opt to stay in.
According to a recent study from Pricelisto, a company that compiles menu and event prices from a wide variety of businesses across the country, Columbus found itself as the country’s fifth least-affordable city for a night out, with an average evening coming in at $212.47.
The Pricelisto study named the country’s most and least affordable cities for a night out by comparing the prices of multiple date-night products and services in each city. These included the cost of a cocktail, bottle of wine, fare for a three mile cab ride and more.

Here were the country’s top 10 least affordable cities:
- San Diego: $225.27
- Charlotte: $224.75
- Austin: $221.23
- Memphis: $216.47
- Columbus: $212.47
- Boston: $211.16
- Seattle: $210.61
- 8. Washington D.C.: $210.39
- Houston: $209.54
- Tucson: $203.39
In case you wondering, the country’s three most affordable date night cities according to the study were Las Vegas ($120.76), San Antonio ($134.56) and Oklahoma City ($136.98).
