Meet the 2023 STEM Stars here
The COSI Science Festival (held May 3-6) is the largest STEM event in Ohio, offering a host of unique STEM-focused activities as part of its wide-reaching slate of community events this year (held May 3-5). But before you dive headfirst into these, it’s time to check out this year’s line up of STEM Stars.
Each year at the COSI Science Festival, a select number of of Columbus-based individuals who make a serious impact on the STEM community and STEM-based learning are honored as STEM Stars. You can find the 2022 STEM Star class here. This year’s class will be honored at the Big Science Celebration on May 6.
The 2023 STEM Star class includes:

Nicole Jackson, Environmental Educator & Nature Coach
Shilpa Padia, MD, FACSBreast Surgical Oncologist, Mount Carmel
Dr. Beth Weinstock & Olivia Weinstock, Executive Director & Co-founder of BirdieLight
STEM Stars are selected by COSI after the Columbus community nominates the individuals they believe “showcase exemplary work by leveraging the power of science to improve the quality of life for us all, in central Ohio and beyond.”
