Band director Jonathan Waters wanting to clear his name
Once the frenzy died down (slightly) over the news of Jonathan Waters getting fired for a culture conducive to sexual harassment within the band, he’s trying to clear his name, according to the Dispatch. His attorney has said Waters isn’t sure on what action he is going to take, but does plan to clear his name. The investigation that led to his termination reported that there were several traditions that he knew about, and according to the Dispatch his David Axelrod attorney said, “Jonathan tried as hard as he could within the constraints imposed upon him to change that culture. He did his absolute best.” In the statement by OSU President Michael Drake, he said all of the university leaders were in agreeance on the action after seeing the report.
