Two local Krogers one step closer to elimination of checkouts
It’s arrived: A grocery shopping experience sans cashiers and traditional, time-consuming checkout lines.
Will you use Kroger Scan, Bag, Go technology?
When you step foot into the Kroger at 55 W. Schrock Rd. shop in Westerville and/or 1375 Chambers Rd. in Columbus near Grandview Heights, you will be met by a few employees and a kiosk of handheld scanning devices.
If you opt for the Scan, Bag, Go service, you will be given a device which you will use to scan your groceries, bag them, and then proceed to paying at a self-payment station. Since items are pre-scanned, time spent at a self-payment station will be significantly less than time spent in a checkout line.
You can also scan your items using the Scan, Bag, Go smartphone app which will soon be able to accept your payment method, as well. This feature will eliminate all lines at the grocery store. The app will also give you access to coupons.
Another 17 Central Ohio stores will get the program throughout the year.
