Less Kitsch, More Class: A visit to The Citizens Trust’s Christmas pop-up bar
Originally published on December 14, 2018
The notoriously kitschy holiday pop-up bar Miracle has made its debut in Columbus, but with more taste than tack.
The Citizens Trust, located at 11 W Gay St., took on the task of bringing a little extra holiday cheer to the people of Columbus by hosting the Miracle pop-up bar.
Rather than the over-the-top decor like at other locations, Miracle Citizens took a more modest and elegant approach to decorating.
To compliment the already stunning design of the space, The Citizens Trust elves adorned the nooks and crannies of the bar with poinsettias, wrapped gifts, garland, glitter, and wintery touches.
The hearth of the holiday hub, however, is the gorgeous marble and dark wood bar.
Again, outside of December, Citizens trust is one of our favorite bars to belly up to. But, with some pops of vintage and a few sparkling bulbs, it’s now an even more charming place to cop a cocktail.
Speaking of cocktails, Miracle at The Citizens Trust is mixing them up right.
On our visit, we tried “And a Partridge in a Pear Tree” and “Run Run Rudolph.”
Both were carefully crafted and served in vintage Christmas glasses with aluminum straws (yay green!).
“Run Run Rudolph” was rich and fruity thanks to the mulled wine and lemon while “And a Partridge in a Pear Tree” was full of body and spicy with its egg whites, spiced brown sugar, bitters, and cinnamon.
Guests will also receive a generous dose of cheer from the Citizens Trust staff who has worked tirelessly to create the festive environment for new patrons and regulars alike—all while wearing the best Christmas sweaters you’ve ever seen.
