This passport-style Columbus arts tour can win you free tickets to “Hamilton”, or a stay in Hotel LeVeque

The Greater Columbus Arts Council has created a free, passport-style system reminiscent of the Columbus Ale Trail, and it’s about to make getting involved in the arts a lot more fun this fall.

“With everything that’s happened recently, it was sometimes feeling like we were strangers in our own city,” said Jami Goldstein, vice president of marketing at GCAC. “And we thought it be fun to help people rediscover Columbus.”

The event will run until Oct. 31.

With more than 60 stops, including gallery hops, exhibitions, concerts, and more, there are plenty of (free) ways to get involved. Make sure to check out our Fall Arts Guide for more event ideas.

Did we mention there are prizes, too?

Each “stop” on your tour (meaning each event you attend) at participating locations will earn you a passport sticker. Collect enough, and there are some great prizes in your future. The list of prizes includes Homage gear, prints from local artists, a stay at Hotel LeVeque, and even tickets to “Hamilton”. You can find a full list of prizes, and their ticket prices, here.

If you’re a fan of local arts anyway, the stickers themselves are worth collecting. Each of the more than 30 options was designed by a Columbus artist.

“We wanted to create a program that didn’t put a financial burden on arts organizations or the general public,” Goldstein said. “The passports are free. While not every arts experience is free, many organizations already offer free admission or have a free admission day, so people can tour many stops for free and redeem their stickered passports for prizes at no cost. Many participating organizations are also including a special offer to passport holders, and we have once again seen the enormous generosity of our community as organizations, businesses, restaurants and individuals donate prizes.”
