“Film It in Cbus” film fellowship apps now open
Film Columbus and the Greater Columbus Arts Council are teaming up to help local filmmakers.
Applications for the “Film It in Cbus Film Creation Awards” are now open, and applicants have the chance to win a $20,000 grant for a local film project and a $2,500 award for script development by a local filmmaker. The project represents the first large-scale awards specifically for film given by the Arts Council, according to a release.

Film Commissioner and Director and Film Columbus John Daugherty said film enriches the community. The awards allow local filmmakers to take a big step into completing a project or getting it shot.
“It’s important because it encourages local film makers to really get out there and make their films, which could lead to bigger things,” he said.
Applications close Sept. 1.
