McGinnis’ Grill—a new food truck launched by longtime Columbus chef John McGinnis —opens on Sept. 23, and it’s bringing a full slate of original sandwiches you need to try this fall.

“It seemed sometimes like everything that went wrong could, but it’s so exciting to finally be at this point,” McGinnis said.

The truck will feature a variety of sandwiches that McGinnis says take inspiration from other cultures’ cuisines while remaining totally approachable. Customers can choose from the hearty braised brisket melt, classic Cuban, spicy Nashville hot chicken, and the vegetarian-friendly Caprese sandwich.

And while the Columbus restaurant veteran plans to keep his menu concise while things get rolling, you can still pick from a handful of staple starters and side dishes like beer-battered fries, jumbo soft pretzels, or his sticky wings, which are smoked, fried, and served in a sweet chili garlic sauce.

And if you happen to save room for dessert, McGinnis is serving sweet and salty cinna-sugar pretzels as well.
