If you want to get creative about your proteins, you might want to check out The Pizza Bandit in Dayton.

The pizza joint recently posted on social media sharing some very unique ‘za: The Spicy Thai Cicada Pie.

That’s right: the 18-inch hand-tossed pizza is topped with sriracha, mozzerella, provolone, mushroom, cabbage, green onion, mango, cilantro … and blanched and sautéed locally foraged cicadas. The crust even features the insects’ wings.

If you’re looking to try this pie, we regret to inform you that it’s not actually on the menu. But that hasn’t prevented the Bandit’s adventurous creation from going viral. CNN has written about the pie, in addition to local and regional news outlets.
