Crafted Culture Brewing closes taproom, will operate as a pop-up only until new location is found

The first Black-owned brewery in Central Ohio is on the hunt for a new home.

According to owner Anthony “Sizzle” Perry, the popular craft brewery, which opened early last year, has left its location at 505 Morrison Rd. in Gahanna in search of a building that meets all of the brewery’s needs.

“The building is closed but the brand is not. In an effort to create a situation that better embodies what we designed Crafted Culture to be, we are parting ways with the 505 Morrison Road location,” a statement from Crafted Culture reads.

Perry cited recent capacity issues, and Crafted Culture’s inability to “create a space that [the brewery] desired” in the former location.

The search for a new building is currently underway, and until one is found, Crafted Culture will operate as a pop-up only. Since the closure, which happened earlier this month, the brewery has been able to can and distribute a pair of original beers with the help of Iron Heart Canning and Endeavor Brewing & Spirits.

And while they’ve left their former location, Crafted Culture stated it is “exhausting all options to remain in Gahanna.”
