New Los Angeles-inspired street taco restaurant opening next month

A new taco spot inspired by Los Angeles street food is opening next month.

Cali Tacos, which will be located at 1111 Hill Rd. in Pickerington, plans to launch a soft opening in mid-September, with a grand opening shortly afterwards.

Located in the former home of Hot Head Burritos, the new restaurant will be able to serve dine-in customers, with 25 interior tables, and will also offer carryout.

According to owner Felipe Cruz, Cali Tacos is an attempt to recreate the vibrant street food scene of Los Angeles right here in Central Ohio.

“Our food is West Coast-inspired, but everything is also home-cooked; we’re a from-scratch kitchen,” Cruz said.

He anticipates the eatery’s street tacos and Baja fish tacos–both served on house-made tortillas–or its carne asada fries will be popular dishes when Cali Tacos opens in September. Other menu highlights include Mexican street corn and LA Dip, made with queso, pico de gallo, crab and shrimp.
