Chicken wing eatery featuring signature “Columbus Gold” sauce now open

Mr. P’s Wings & Things had been open at its new location in Eastland Mall for less than six months when, in late December last year, the mall shut down after more than 50 years in business.

Three months later, owner Paul Taylor officially opened a new location of the chicken wing spot, which held its grand opening last week. On the border of East Linden and Argyle Park, Mr. P’s Wings & Things is located at 1828 E. Hudson St.

While the mostly-carryout spot also offers chili dogs, cheese fries and more, its known known for their wings and their signature wing sauce.

“It’s called Columbus Gold,” Taylor said. “We have people come from all over for it.”

While Taylor wouldn’t divulge exactly what’s his sauce is made from, he did speak a bit about the process of creating it.

“Today people don’t really season their food because they’re afraid of their blood pressure. We figured out a way to create that down-home taste in Columbus Gold without adding even more salt,” he said.

Mr. P’s Wings & Things also offers Sweet Heat, Honey BBQ, Lemon Pepper and Paradise sauce, a mix of all four.
