It appears the Columbus community is rallying around The Hungarian Butcher following a Memorial Day weekend fire that temporarily closed the Linworth butcher shop. This includes local businesses as well.

According to multiple social media posts, JT’s Pizza & Pub, which is located across W. Dublin Granville Road from The Hungarian Butcher, donated 10 percent of yesterday’s sales to the neighboring butcher shop.

“Our neighbors at The Hungarian Butcher recently experienced a fire resulting in significant loss. As a small business, we understand how heartbreaking and difficult something like this can be for the whole team,” a social media post from JT’s reads. “TODAY we will donate 10% of all sales to our friends at the Hungarian Butcher. Please stop by and have a pizza or a couple of drinks; it will be our pleasure to donate on your behalf.”

While it’s unclear how much money The Hungarian Butcher was given, owner Dan Varga did share how grateful he was for the donation.

“They were very generous. The community rallied up to support local businesses and eat one of the top pizzas in Columbus. We sure are overwhelmed by the support and Joe’s willingness to help. We Love Linworth and Worthington,” Varga told 614Now.
