New York-style pizza and authentic Puerto Rican fare is coming soon to Clintonville.

Nuyorican Pizzeria & Restaurant, which originally began as a ghost kitchen in 2021, is holding the soft opening of its first brick and mortar location on Sept. 1, according to a statement posted to the restaurant’s social media pages. The opening will take place from 3 p.m.-12 a.m.

The Puerto Rican-inspired pizzeria is located at 2864 N. High St. in Clintonville.

In an interview earlier this year, New York native and owner Oshen Figueroa told 614Now that, while he grew up eating and cooking Puerto Rican cuisine, pizza is his flagship offering.

“Pizza’s my speciality, though, hand-tossed and from scratch. I worked at Pizzeria New York in Pickerington for years. I learned about the trade and craft and got to build relationships, and really create my own recipe,” he said.

Nuyorican Pizzeria & Restaurant will also offer Spanish Rice, Mofongo, Puerto Rican Empandas and more.
