Popular mini donut concept opens first brick and mortar location

Mini donuts have found a home in Polaris Fashion Place.

Sofi’s Mini Donuts plans to open its first brick and mortar location today, in the form of a Polaris kiosk. The new mini donut shop will be located inside Polaris Fashion Place, which is located at 1500 Polaris Pkwy.

According to Yunier Jimenez—who owns the concept alongside his partner, Yajaira Paulino—the new location will allow Sofi’s to test new menu items (like mini donuts topped with ice cream). It will include all of the eatery’s mainstays from their current food trucks as well, such as Nutella Donuts or those topped with cinnamon and sugar. The space will even allow customers to watch their donuts as they’re being made.

Sofi’s Mini Donuts began as a food trailer, before opening a food truck outside of the Tanger Outlets Columbus.

“Coming from festivals, it’s a lot different opening in one of the most popular malls in the area,” Jimenez said. “All of the requirements, we didn’t have a clue how this would all work, but we finally made it. That’s’ life, we’re here and we’re doing it.”
